Midmar Dam

Record Catch: A 6.29 kg (13.8 lb) largemouth bass was caught in September 2004. Recent Large Catches: A 5.8 kg bass was caught during the Joey’s Towing Tournament Trail in April 2024. Prime Locations: Key areas include the three main bays, Pylon/Pigspen, and Thurlow. Structure: The dam features extensive grass lines, submerged trees, and rock piles, making it ideal for targeting big fish. Techniques: Effective lures include spinnerbaits, jerkbaits, senkos, topwater, and jigs.
